If Every Day Could Be Earth Day

Tree, Ploughed Field, zone plate photograph, gelatin silver print

I’d like to think that everyday is Earth Day. I’d like to think that we know we are the Earth.

Earth Day
By Jane Yolen

I am the Earth
And the Earth is me.
Each blade of grass,
Each honey tree,
Each bit of mud,
And stick and stone
Is blood and muscle,
Skin and bone.
